09 September 2026, CANBERRA — Philippine Ambassador to Australia Antonio A. Morales met with Dr. Raymond Kelly, Chairperson of the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC), during the Council's Diplomatic Dialogue Series in Canberra.

Dr. Kelly provided an overview of NSWALC's work and its engagement with Aboriginal communities across New South Wales. Ambassador Morales shared perspectives on the Philippines' diverse Indigenous communities and recalled the longstanding people-to-people connections between Filipinos and Aboriginal Australians, including historical links dating back to the pearling industry in Western Australia and Northern Territories.

The discussion also covered community development, education, culture and other areas of mutual interest. Both sides welcomed continued dialogue and opportunities for the exchange of experiences between the Embassy and NSWALC.

Dr. Kelly was accompanied by Mr. David Lee, Principal Advisor to the CEO of NSWALC. - END
