09 September 2026, Canberra – The Philippine Embassy in Canberra joined Asian Missions in Canberra in a meeting with Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Krissy Lee Barrett at the AFP College. Commissioner Barrett expressed her appreciation to the Asian Heads of Mission and Officials for their continued support of the AFP and its efforts to strengthen cooperation with regional law enforcement partners. The discussions underscored the importance of robust and proactive engagement across the region to address prevailing evolving transnational and criminal threats.

Commissioner Barrett welcomed recent joint operational achievements which highlight the value of international cooperation in enhancing regional law enforcement capabilities. She recalled her attendance at the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference in Manila, during which she conveyed her appreciation to the Philippine National Police for their prompt and vital assistance in the investigation following the Bondi Beach incident.- END
