ADVISORY ON THE END OF TENURE OF THE HONORARY CONSUL GENERAL IN DARWIN, NORTHERN TERRITORY, AND THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN DARWIN, NORTHERN TERRITORY

20 April 2026 - The Philippine Embassy in Canberra announces the end of tenure of Mr. Januario John Rivas, the Philippine Honorary Consul General in Darwin, Northern Territory, on 12 May 2026, and the temporary closure of the Philippine Consulate General in Darwin from 13 May 2026 until the assumption of the new Philippine Honorary Consul.

Filipinos in the Northern Territory who require consular services or assistance may avail themselves of the services of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra.

Legalization of Special Powers of Attorney (SPA), Affidavits, Acknowledgements through Apostille

Private documents such as affidavits, Special Powers of Attorney, deeds, and sworn statements that cannot be executed in the presence of a Philippine consular official may still be accepted in the Philippines, provided that these have been duly apostilled by the relevant office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in the state or territory where the document was issued.
