22 July 2025, CANBERRA - Officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) provided a briefing to Ambassador Antonio A. Morales on their meeting with Australian counterparts in support of the Strategic Partnership of the Philippines and Australia.

Major General Fabian M. Pedregosa, Commander of the Air Defense Command of the AFP, attended the Key Leader Engagement with the Royal Australian Air Force held on 20-24 July 2025 in Canberra. Colonel Thomas Ryan R. Sequin PAF (MNSA) accompanied MGEN Pedregosa in the meeting.

The Philippines and Australia have a robust defense and security cooperation program that covers a range of activities in counter-terrorism, maritime security, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response. The Philippines and Australia signed a Status of Visiting Forces Agreement (SOVFA) in 2007. - END
