_H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia, called on Senator Alex Gallacher on 16 October 2019 at Parliament House, Canberra. Senator Gallacher shared his insights on his last visit to the Philippines in particular the strength and resilience of the Filipino people. The Senator also mentioned the historic ties between the Philippines and South Australia in reference to their respective roles during the second world war. Ambassador De La Vega and Senator Gallacher discussed opportunities to support Philippines-Australia relations in preparation for the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Australia in 2021.
