AU travel agents get a preview why it's more fun in the Philippines

Philippine Department of Tourism Representative in Australia Ms. Norjamin Delos Reyes gives the latest developments on the most sought after travel destinations in the Philippines during the Philippine Business Mission held on 02 October in Melbourne.

MELBOURNE, Australia (04 October 2019) – The Philippine Department of Tourism office in Sydney organized a Philippine Business Mission (PBM) led by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) on 02-03 October 2019 in Melbourne and Sydney to provide the latest developments in the most sought after travel destinations in the Philippines.

Some 25 private sector participants representing reputable hotels, resorts and airlines from the Philippines travelled to Melbourne on 02 October and conducted business to business meetings with Melbourne-based travel agents.

With the theme, “Be the next Philippine fun travel expert,” the PBM gathered Melbourne-based travel agents to update them on the latest offerings of key destinations in the Philippines as well as the growing flight options between the Philippines and Australia. The dinner reception held on 02 October in Melbourne featured a trivia challenge where travel agents got to learn more about why it’s more fun in the Philippines. Tourism Representative in Australia Norjamin Delos Reyes talked about the fun activities that may be promoted in world-renowned Palawan, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol and Siargao, among other key destinations.

Australia is the top five source of tourist arrivals in the Philippines. Tourist arrivals from Australia to the Philippines has been increasing in the past five years. The Philippine government is making significant investments in infrastructure through the Build, Build, Build program to improve inter-island connectivity and facilitate the flow of business and investment. The Philippines is also committed to responsible and sustainable tourism and is working with various stakeholders to ensure this is maintained. – END

Hotels, resorts and airline representatives from the Philippines travelled to Melbourne on 02 October to undertake business to business meetings with Melbourne-based travel agents and promote Philippine travel destinations.
