02 September 2026, CANBERRA – Minister and Consul General Sheila Marie Tario and First Secretary and Consul Rainier Casis attended the ANU Philippines Institute Roundtable on 02 September 2026 headlined by Dr. Lowell Bautista, members of Australia and Philippine academic institutions, DFAT and Australian government agencies.

The roundtable discussions were facilitated by Dr. Maria Tanyag, Director of the ANU Philippines Institute, and Fellow Mr. Gemmo Fernandez. Adhering to the Chatham House Rule, the roundtable provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the role of academics and universities in supporting peace, diplomacy, and conflict mitigation in Southeast Asia, as well as on regional perceptions of Australia’s influence and engagement, including in the area of maritime security. - END
