10 June 2026, CANBERRA - Ambassador Antonio A. Morales received H.E. Nooraslena Sallehudin, Ambassador-Designate of Brunei Darussalam to Australia, for a courtesy introductory call at the Embassy of the Philippines.

Ambassador Morales expressed appreciation to Ambassador-Designate Sallehudin for Brunei Darussalam’s support for the Philippines in the United Nations Security Council candidature and ASEAN Chairship.

The Heads of Mission exchanged views on the importance of multilateralism and reaffirmed the commitment to upholding a rules-based international order and the peaceful settlement of disputes, as well as explored cooperation on energy and food security, migration, education, and people-to-people linkages across the region.

As ASEAN Chair in 2026, the Philippines will advance its work under the theme “Navigating Our Future, Together,” reflecting its commitment to strengthening regional resilience, deepening connectivity among member states, and fostering practical cooperation that promotes inclusive and sustainable development with people at its core. -END
