20 May 2026 PORT VILA, VANUATU – Ambassador Morales together met with the Honorable Ian Toakalana Wilson, Vanuatu’s Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, and Biosecurity.

During the meeting, Minister Wilson detailed challenges and opportunities in the country's agricultural sector, primarily focusing on the copra industry. In response Ambassador Morales mentioned the Philippines’ continued South-South cooperation through the Technical Cooperation Council of the Philippines (TCCP), which provides meaningful development-oriented projects. Minister Wilson also stressed the need for a formal agricultural cooperation framework to facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and technology, proposing a beneficial meeting between the respective agriculture ministers in the Philippines. In response, Ambassador Morales welcomed the opportunity to further agricultural cooperation in the best interest of both the Philippines and Vanuatu. - END
