1 October 2026, MELBOURNE – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Antonio A. Morales joined Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Commissioner Aimee P. Ferolino and Consul General Jesus “Gary” R. S. Domingo in overseas voter registration and education activities at the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne in preparation for the 2028 Philippine National Elections.

The programme included on-site overseas voter registration, a town hall meeting, and a press conference, providing opportunities for members of the Filipino community to register as overseas voters, obtain information on registration requirements, and receive updates on the electoral process.

These activities form part of the Philippine Government’s continuing efforts to facilitate overseas voter registration and encourage Filipinos abroad to participate in the country’s democratic process by exercising their right to vote.

Following the Melbourne activities, the overseas voter registration and education programme continued in New South Wales, with sessions in Rooty Hill on 3 October and Fairfield on 4 October 2026.

Registration for the 2028 Philippine National Elections runs until 30 September 2027, with election day scheduled for 8 May 2028. Eligible Filipinos in Australia may register as overseas voters or update their existing records at the Philippine Embassy in Canberra, the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney or Melbourne, or during field/mobile registration activities conducted by the Embassy and the Consulates.

The Philippine Embassy encourages all eligible Filipinos to register and exercise their right to vote in the 2028 Philippine National Elections. END
