Advisory on New Dates of Mobile Consular Mission in Vanuatu, 21-22 October 2023

/ advisory

27 September 2023 - The Embassy of the Philippines in Canberra informs the Filipino community in Vanuatu that the mobile consular mission originally scheduled on 30 September to 01 October 2023 is canceled and will be held instead on 21 to 22 October 2023. The Embassy delegation is not able to proceed to Vanuatu as planned due to the cancellation of flights by Air Vanuatu.

The Mission will serve passport applicants, administer the oath of allegiance to petitioners for dual citizenship who have received approval letters from the Embassy, and conduct overseas voting registration for the 2025 Philippine elections.

Passport Application

Passport applicants are requested to send an email on or before 12 October 2023 to mobilemission@philembassy.org.au with the following details:

Dual Citizenship

Please visit https://philembassy.org.au/consular/dual-citizenship for the complete list of requirements. Only those who have received approval letters from the Consul General and have confirmed appointments will be allowed to take the oath during the mobile mission. Please note that the Embassy’s auto-reply for all emails is not a confirmation of your appointment for the oath-taking ceremony.

It is your personal responsibility to make sure that your application has been received and that you have been scheduled for the oath-taking ceremony.

Please send an email to mobilemission@philembassy.org.au on or before 12 October 2023 (subject : Vanuatu Consular Mission) and attach a copy of the approval letter from the Consul General to book an appointment for oath-taking.

The Embassy will pre-process the email requests and will send email replies. Those who are cleared will be provided their appointment schedule by email. Those who need to submit additional documents will also be informed by email.

All dual citizenship applicants who wish to apply for Philippine passports must also send a separate email to mobilemission@philembassy.org.au as mentioned in the above section for passports. Reacquisition/retention of Philippine citizenship which is completed through oath-taking before a consular official must be conducted prior to appearance for passport encoding.

Filipinos who have acquired Vanuatu or Australian citizenship through naturalization have lost their Philippine citizenship. They are not allowed to apply for a Philippine passport until they have reacquired/retained their Philippine citizenship under the Philippine Republic Act 9225 (Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act of 2003).

The mobile mission is unable to accommodate dual citizen oath-takers who wish to avail of passport services but have not secured appointments for passport applications.
