Philippine Embassy Team Wins ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament

H.E. Zakaria Ahmad, High Commissioner for Brunei Darussalam and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra, presents the trophy to H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega and the Philippine Embassy team for the 4th ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament on 28 March 2022 in Canberra.

CANBERRA, Australia – The Philippine Embassy in Canberra Bowling Team emerged the Champion of the 4th ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament on 28 March 2022. The Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic was the 1st Runner-up.

H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia, was the first runner up in the VIP Women category.

The members of the Philippine Embassy bowling team were First Secretary and Consul General Aian Caringal, Mr. Rodrigo Gavino, Mr. Arvin Martinez, Mr. Noel Reyes and Mr. Alexander Castillon.

The bowling tournament was organized by the ASEAN Committee in Canberra under the chairmanship of the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam. This year, members of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade joined the tournament.

The 1st ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament was initiated by the Philippine Embassy in 2017 in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN. END


ASEAN Heads of Mission and their representatives with AU DFAT Assistant Secretary Ray Marcelo officially opened the 4th ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament on 28 March 2022.
