29 January 2026 - Philippine Ambassador to Australia Antonio A. Morales welcomed Capital Health Network’s (CHN) Senior Manager for Primary Care Integration Ms. Russelle Trinidad and Allied Health Engagement Officer Ms. Sheila Brito to the Philippine Embassy on 29 January 2026 for a briefing on the role of the CHN within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) health system and its services.
Ms. Trinidad and Ms. Brito discussed pathways to accessing a broad range of health services, including primary care, mental health supports, palliative care, alcohol and other drug (AOD) services, family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) programs, allied health, and other commissioned initiatives available in the ACT.
CHN is the Primary Health Network for the ACT funded by the Australian Government. It acts as a not-for-profit organization to improve primary healthcare services in the ACT. CHN collaborates with clinicians, general practices, and community stakeholders to address health service gaps, particularly in mental health, aged care, and chronic disease management.
Operating under a national multicultural health framework, CHN’s engagement with the Philippine Embassy presented an opportunity in providing valuable information on accessing health care services that can be shared with the Filipino community in the ACT.
More information about the CHN is available at https://www.chnact.org.au/. END
