Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega with the Hon Dan Tehan MP, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment at their meeting on 25 March at Parliament House. The Ambassador gave Philippine-made Lagu beach-friendly towel to the Minister.

25 March 2021 (Canberra) – H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Ambassador of the Philippines to Australia, met the Hon Dan Tehan today at Parliament House. Minister Tehan is the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment responsible for advancing Australia’s trade and investment relations with regional and global partners.

The Ambassador and the Trade Minister both underscored the importance of enhancing business links of the Philippines and Australia and create opportunities to pursue economic recovery. The Ambassador said, “Australia is a traditional trading partner of the Philippines and Australian businesses in the Philippines have been very successful.” The Ambassador invited the Minister to visit the Philippines when conditions allow.

Minister Tehan noted the 75 years of friendship of the Philippines and Australia and said, “We should explore meaningful ways to deepen the partnership.” -- END
