25 May 2023, CANBERRA – Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Aian Caringal welcomed on 22 May 2023 the visiting delegation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by Col. Ryan Reynie Sonza GSC, Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Plans, Philippine Air Force (PAF), accompanied by PAF Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Logistics Col. Robert R. Bitas, Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Training Col. Jose Johnson T. Grayda, and Deputy Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Intel Col. Rey A. Gubantes.

The AFP delegation participated in the 5th PAF-RAAF Air Staff Talks hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) from 22-24 May 2023. The meeting served as a platform for exchanges and strengthening of bilateral ties. The enduring security and defense partnership is a cornerstone of Philippines-Australia relations. Australia is one of only two Status of Forces Agreement partners of the Philippines. - END-
