PH Embassy Welcomes New Labor Attaché to Australia

03 August 2021 – H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia, welcomes Labor Attaché Atty. Felicitas Q. Bay, head of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Australia, as the newest member of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra. Labor Attaché Bay officially assumed office on 02 August 2021.

Atty. Bay, a public servant for over 30 years, has previous postings as Labor Attaché in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Seoul and Qatar. In the Philippines, she served in the Department of Labor and Employment as Acting Director of the International Labor Affairs Bureau and in the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration as Director of the Licensing Branch, as Director of the Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch, and as Legal Officer/Prosecuting Attorney of the Legal Assistance and Prosecution Division.

Atty. Bay represented the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the implementation of its labor policy and programs overseas and worked towards workers’ protection through labor documentation, legal assistance and welfare services. She also led initiatives that supported employment promotion and job opportunity identification, and assisted in the development of labor migration policies in the name of promoting good inter-country relations.
