12 May 2025, CANBERRA – The Philippine Embassy successfully conducted a full-day First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training course for its personnel on 23 April 2025. The activity aimed to enhance emergency preparedness and ensure the safety and wellbeing of its staff and community.

The comprehensive training program covered a wide range of essential topics to equip participants with the skills and confidence needed to manage emergency situations and administer effective first aid. Participants received practical and theoretical instruction on managing common injuries and illnesses, responding to medical emergencies, and performing life-saving interventions.

As part of the training, participants completed the Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) course, a nationally accredited certification in Australia. This accreditation grants participants the ability to perform CPR during emergency situations.

In addition, Embassy personnel were certified in Provide First Aid (HLTAID011), incorporating the Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010) component. These nationally accredited courses provided three accredited units of competency, enabling participants to effectively assess, manage, and respond to a range of emergency scenarios.

This initiative forms part of the Embassy’s ongoing commitment to ensure the provision of swift and effective assistance to its personnel and the community especially in critical situations. - END
