PH-AU service-to-service talks reinforce bilateral defense cooperation

04 April 2024, CANBERRA – Officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines provided a briefing to Ambassador Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega on their engagements with Australian counterparts in support of the Strategic Partnership of the Philippines and Australia.

The Philippines-Australia Navy to Navy Talks and the Philippines-Australia Army to Army Talks were recently held in Canberra to plan annual activities and pursue discussions on training and joint exercises. The Philippine Navy delegation was led by Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia, Vice Commander, while the Philippine Army delegation was led by Major General Potenciano Camba, Chief of Staff.

The Philippines and Australia, have a robust defense and security cooperation program that covers a range of activities in counter-terrorism, maritime security and humanitarian assistance and disaster response. Australia is one of only two Visiting Forces Agreement partners of the Philippines. -- END
