A total of 31 personnel from ten agencies of the Philippine government completed a customized seven-month data analytics program of CMU-A, which has been ranked top one in the world. The program was made possible through the Australia Awards.

The participants developed their own analytics projects that will help accelerate government effectiveness and presented the projects to officials of the Philippine and Australian governments including the Ambassador, Australian Ambassador to Manila Steven Robinson, Finance Undersecretary Antonette Tionko and Budget Assistant Secretary Clarito Magsino along with industry representatives.

Noting the initiatives of the Philippine government in developing data scientists and knowledge workers such as through the Project SPARTA of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development with the Development Academy of the Philippines, Ambassador De La Vega said, “I urge you to use your capstone project as a platform for further innovations that you will introduce in your respective agencies and contribute in promoting greater transparency and efficiency in government service.” -- END
