Filipino Military Cadets celebrates the International Day Affair, Australian Defence College

/ news

Lt. Commander Michael G. Barrion and Col. Doroteo Jose Jalandoni from the Philippine Navy, led the other Filipino Military Officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines in putting up a stall showcasing the Philippines during the International Day Affair at the Australian Defence College (ADC) on 15 March 2014.

The display featured some Filipino local products, Philippine tourism posters and brochures, and a taste of some Filipino delicacies.

Filipino cultural extravaganza was showcased through the rondalla serenade of the Rondanihan and Filipino folk dances by the ACT Filipino-Australian Social & Cultural Association (ACTFASCA). The Philippine National Dance Tinikling continued to be a crowd-pleaser.

Col. Ricardo Santiago and his family joined the cadets in showcasing the Philippines, side by side with the different country displays of the other international military students of ADC.

The event is held every year and is able to attract more Australian visitors and locals of the different participating countries.
