17 February 2021, CANBERRA – The Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines will host Fiesta Filipinas, an online celebration of Sinulog, Ati-atihan and Dinagyang Festivals on Saturday, 20 February 2021, 5:00 PM (AEDT) via Facebook and Youtube.

Sinulog, Ati-Atihan and Dinagyang are well-known festivals celebrated in the Visayas region in the Philippines. These are cultural and religious festivals that have become big tourist attractions and a celebration of Philippine heritage. The festivals take greater meaning this year when the Philippines commemorates the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan, the Philippine contribution in world maritime history and 500th anniversary of Philippine Christianity.

Fiesta Filipinas will feature virtual tours and workshops that will bring the festival experience to a global audience. -- END
