24 April 2026, CANBERRA - Ambassador Antonio A. Morales received H.E. Nom Piseth, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for a courtesy introductory call at the Embassy of the Philippines.

The Ambassadors exchanged views on opportunities for expanding collaboration in education cooperation and agricultural development. They also highlighted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, reinforced by high-level exchanges, including through the reciprocal visits of Prime Minister Hun Manet and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in 2025.

They also discussed regional and international developments. Cambodia expressed support for the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship, particularly its focus on strengthening energy resilience, disaster preparedness and responding to evolving regional challenges.

The Philippines is the ASEAN Chair for 2026. Guided by the theme “Navigating Our Future, Together,” the 2026 Chairship reflects the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening ASEAN’s resilience, deepening regional connectivity, and advancing practical cooperation that places people at the center of inclusive and sustainable progress. -END
