21 MARCH 2026, SYDNEY – Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Antonio A. Morales joined the Bicol Communities League Inc. in celebrating its 20th Anniversary Ball at Wentys Leagues Club in Wentworthville, New South Wales. Led by its Chairperson, Ms. Fe Biso Moran, the event paid tribute to National Artist Nora Aunor, one of Bicol’s most cherished daughters and a lasting icon of Philippine cinema and music.
Distinguished guests included Mr. Warren Kirby, MP, Member for Riverstone, Albay Governor Noel E. Rosal, and Consul General Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil.
In his remarks, Ambassador Morales congratulated the Bicol Communities League Inc. on two decades of service in bringing together Bicolanos across Australia and in promoting Philippine heritage within the wider Australian community. He underscored the importance of Filipino community organizations in preserving culture and strengthening community ties.
The Ambassador noted that as the Philippines and Australia mark 80 years of diplomatic relations this year, the Filipino community continues to be an important bridge between the two countries. He also honored the legacy of Nora Aunor and recognized the role of the arts in expressing identity, telling the stories of Filipinos, and connecting Filipinos across generations.
