Philippine Honorary Consul Florentino “Bong” Serrano takes his Oath before Ambassador Ernesto H. De Leon at the Philippine Embassy in Canberra
The Philippine Honorary Consulate in Port Vila re-opens with the appointment of Mr. Florentino “Bong” Serrano as the Philippine Honorary Consul in Port Vila, Vanuatu
Honorary Consul Serrano flew to Canberra and took his Oath of Office before Ambassador Ernesto H. De Leon on 19 November 2009 at the Philippine Embassy, which exercises jurisdiction over the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu.
Honorary Consul Serrano, the Group Financial Controller of the IFIRA Group of Companies, is a naturalized Ni-Vanuatu citizen and active community leader.
There are at least 100 OFWs in Vanuatu, mainly working in the tourism industries. Aside from the increasing number of Vanuatu students taking their collegiate courses in the Philippines, there are also favorable trading prospects for Philippine consumer and food products in the Vanuatu market. |
