A legal document (eg, power of attorney or a contract) executed in Australia by an individual or corporate entity requires ACKNOWLEDGMENT or AUTHENTICATION by the Philippine Embassy in Canberra so that it will have legal force and effect in the Philippines.

The Embassy acknowledges a legal document that is signed by an individual in the presence of the consular official, with the individual declaring it to be his/her true and voluntary act and deed.

The person must present his/her passport and a driver’s license or any other acceptable identification card that contains the photograph and signature of the holder.

The person signs the original and duplicate copy of the document/s in the presence of the consular officer.
